The first single from my new album Audiostrata is called "Dig." The song begins with a lone voice encouraging the listener to "dig." That is the most obvious reason for the song's title, but I had a couple of other ideas when I named it. "Dig" was the second song I wrote for Audiostrata. Appropriately enough, it also appears second on the album. The first song on the album, "Audiostrata," acts as a sonically energetic introduction, a wakeup call, to set the tone for the album and introduce the album's main theme. "Dig" carries on from there, taking the time to set the stage for the rest of the album. To me, "Dig" is saying we're excited, we're awake, we're focused, but we need to keep it going - so let's dig, dig, dig. In other words, if the listener wants to explore these sonic layers, they have to dig. The word "dig" is also used in the phrase "dig it," so the song acts as an invitation for the listener to "dig" the rest of the album. I hope you can "dig it" too.
