Featured Songs on djSwade Radio - March 2022 Edition

Writer: djSwadedjSwade

In August 2021, I debuted djSwade Radio on Pandora. Because I enjoyed the songs and artists so much, I decided to pick three that I really dug and describe what spoke to me about them. I had a blast doing it, so I'm making it a monthly thing. My only criteria for picking these songs is that I really enjoy them. It doesn't matter to me whether they're old or new as long as they groove. So, in no particular order, here are my picks for March 2022.

I get an overall feeling of well-being from this song. The title "Daydream" is evocative. It reminds me a bit of the vibe I get from "Daydream" by Lovin' Spoonful. I like the xylophone/vibraphone accompaniment, the clean beat and the fact that it gets right to the point. It gets in, gives you a nice lift and walks away with a smile of satisfaction.

I like just about all the music from this group. This one strikes me in particular. Sonically, this piece reminds me of the "The Whale" by one of my all-time favorite groups, Electric Light Orchestra. "Heaven" really transports me to a good place. I am intrigued by the keyboards and the sounds they coax out of them. The beat really gets me going too. This is the kind of song I can play to start me up in the morning or energize me while I'm immersed in a project.

This song has an epic feel. It's the musical equivalent of a rich tapestry, with voices, melody and beat tightly interwoven. It tells a musical story, building up with intent and purpose as it works toward a fantastic release. The word that pops into my head is "beautiful." I also get the feel of walking into a monastery and hearing a collective body of monks and nuns in full voice, rejoicing. This is the celebration of autumn, in all its magnificent glory.

I highly recommend all these songs. You can hear them on djSwade Radio. You can also click the direct link to each song, artist or album provided above. If you like what you hear on djSwade Radio, you can also listen to my album Audiostrata (available on Pandora, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and other online stores), as well as my new singles "Lemon Cello" (available on Pandora, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and other online stories), "Ascending Acoustic" (available on Pandora, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and other online stores), "Waverider" (available on Pandora, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and other online stores) and "Before Sunrise" (available on Pandora, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and other online stores).
