I like to start out the year on a positive note. This year is no different. So, my first single of 2023 is Shiny New Day.
I started writing this song at the end of 2021. It had a slow evolution. The original idea for the song is what you hear at the beginning and end of the final track. However, as I continued to tinker with it, I decided that I wanted to recreate the feeling of calm reflection followed by a dawning realization that every day is a shiny new day. In other words, every day is an opportunity to do something new and different or to just plain get the most out of my life. I accomplish that by fading out the opening theme and fading in the "realization" sequence where everything is shiny and new. Having experienced the "aha" moment, I return to my calm reflection, happier in my newfound knowledge.
I purposely waited to release this song because I thought the beginning of the year was symbolic and made the most sense. It is the first of many songs that I will release in 2023 and it is my sincere hope that enjoy it!
